Former Bucs safety and special teams star Keith Tandy is joining the Tampa Bay coaching staff in the role of special teams assistant, replacing Amos Jones, who took a coaching position with the New York Giants. The story was first reported by Greg Auman of the Athletic, and later confirmed by PewterReport.com.
Tandy, 31, was a sixth-round draft pick by the Bucs in 2012 and played in 84 games with 15 starts in Tampa Bay. He recorded 179 tackles, 14 pass breakups and eight interceptions in his six-year Bucs career, including four INTs down the stretch that helped Tampa Bay finish 9-7 in the 2016 season.
Tandy spent the 2018 season in Atlanta playing for current special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong. He was reportedly set to take a graduate assistant position at his alma mater, West Virginia, before the Bucs reached out to him about its recent opening.
