The Bucs have come to a financial agreement with 2020 first round pick Tristan Wirfs on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL network. The deal with Tampa Bay’s newest right tackle is worth $16.23 million over four years with a fifth-year option. All of the money is guaranteed.

Wirfs hasn’t signed the deal yet, but will do so once he gets into the building for training camp. As Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds reported earlier, the Bucs’ rookies are reporting on Thursday in order to take a COVID-19 test and will take another on Sunday, July 27th, followed by physicals the day after on the 28th. This means that Monday is the earliest day that Wirfs can sign the deal.
Wirfs was selected 13th overall by the Bucs after moving up one spot in a trade with the 49ers to assure that they were selecting one of the top four tackles in the draft. He has the prototypical size and length for an offensive tackle, with some of his best traits consisting of his versatility and mobility.
He will step right in as the Bucs starting right tackle on the offensive line and could potentially move over to left tackle if Donovan Smith opts out of playing this year.
It was a busy day overall for the Bucs, who outside of Wirfs also agreed to terms with Antoine Winfield Jr., Ke’Shawn Vaughn, and Chapelle Russell on Wednesday, according to Rick Stroud.
Coming off the heels of finalizing agreements with Tyler Johnson and Khalil Davis on Monday and Raymond Calais on Tuesday, the Bucs have now officially agreed to contractual terms with their entire 2020 draft class.
