The Bucs will have a bit of a different look about them on Sunday as they take on the Colts in Indianapolis, and not just because they could be entering the game with a few injury replacements on defense. Tampa Bay will be wearing its all-pewter uniform for the first time in 2023, the team announced Wednesday.

Pewter Report previously reported that this would be the case last week.

The Bucs have worn a whole lot of white throughout this season, wearing either white jerseys and white pants or white jerseys and pewter pants in eight out of their 10 games. The other two games saw them wear red jerseys with white pants (on Monday Night Football against the Eagles) and their creamsicle throwbacks against the Lions in Week 6.

Not that uniforms have any true effect on the outcome of games, but since they debuted the all-pewter look when they redesigned their uniforms in 2020, the Bucs have had mixed results when wearing it.

Things got off to a hot start for the “Pewter Power” look, as Tampa Bay first wore them in Week 3 of the 2020 season in a 28-10 win at Denver. They followed that up with a 27-24 loss while wearing them in a Monday Night Football game against the Rams later that year.

The pewter look’s debut year ended on a high note, with the Bucs wearing them for a 44-27 win over the Falcons in Week 17.

The alternate uniforms returned for just one game in 2021 and 2022, with both games being losses. The first was a 34-24 loss to the Rams in Los Angeles, while the most recent appearance of the all-pewter look came in a 34-23 home loss to the Bengals last December.

So, Tampa Bay is 2-3 all-time in this pewter alternate look and will be looking to even that record at 3-3 on Sunday against the Colts.
