Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs wide receiver corps has been decimated by injuries at various times this season. One of the latest additions is wide receiver Antonio Brown, who many assumed would be back after the bye week. Instead, Brown appears to be a long shot to play in Week 10. According to head coach Bruce Arians, Brown’s injury is more significant than first thought.

“He’s got a bone spur that aggravated it,” Arians said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “He was out of the boot (Wednesday). He was doing some walking exercises. We’ll see how that goes.”

Brown injured his ankle against Philadelphia in Week 6, despite nine catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. He’s been spectacular for the Bucs this season, but will likely miss his fourth game of the year on Sunday. Pewter Report’s Matt Matera collected video of Brown at practice without a boot. Brown was wearing a helmet and catching balls on the JUGS machine.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was among those not expecting Brown to play this week. Perhaps the All-Pro receiver returns against the Giants in Week 11. But Week 12 against the Colts seems like a safer bet.

“I will say, the Gronk injury has taken longer, and the AB injury has taken longer,” Rapoport said on the show. “It sounds like Gronk is probably down at least this week. And it sounds like AB, I mean, he’s still in a boot. So he’s down a little bit too.”

The Bucs are hopeful that third-year receiver Scotty Miller can return to the lineup in Week 10. Miller has been dealing with turf toe since Week 3 against the Rams. Newly-signed Breshad Perriman will contribute as well, especially if Chris Godwin misses time.

Tampa Bay will travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Football Team on Sunday at 1pm.
