Latest Bucs Headlines

Friday’s practice for the Bucs was relatively similar to what we’ve seen all week. After having the previous day off, Chris Godwin returned to warm up with his teammates. Inside linebacker Lavonte David was back at it again, as was SirVocea Dennis.

Devin White was not out there and he won’t be available for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. While Jamel Dean was on a separate field working out, he didn’t participate and won’t be playing this weekend either.

The big question for the Bucs remains on the defense with nose tackle Vita Vea. For the third day in a row, Vea did not practice for the Bucs.

After practice was done, Todd Bowles spoke with us and officially ruled out White and Dean. When it came to Vea, the possibility is still on the table.

“He’s still in play,” Bowles said. “He’s probably still questionable right now.”

This is the most important game of the season for the Bucs. A win puts them in first place in the NFC South. But a loss would see them two games behind the Falcons in the loss column, and since they’d lose the tiebreaker to Atlanta as well, it really makes it a three game separation.

The only game Vea has missed this season was on a short week when the Bucs played at the Bills on Thursday night. He’s been able get through a couple of injuries this year. Hopefully he can do it again when they need him most.
