Latest Bucs Headlines

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won the NFC South the last two seasons, and with a convincing 26-9 win in New Orleans over the Saints, the Bucs are back on top of the division. On another weekend where all three of the Bucs’ divisional opponents lost, Tampa Bay improved to 3-1 by winning in New Orleans, while the Saints fell to 2-2 on the season. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles is now 3-0 against the Saints as Tampa Bay’s head coach.

New Orleans joins Atlanta as another team that started off 2-0 but has now lost two straight. The Falcons got beat by the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, 23-7. Both Tampa Bay and Atlanta are 1-0 in the division. The Falcons beat the Panthers, 24-10, in Week 1. The Saints also beat the Panthers, 20-17, but are now 1-1 in the division with the loss to the Bucs on Sunday.

Bucs 3-1 – 1-0 in division games

Falcons 2-2 – 1-0 in division games

Saints 2-2 – 1-1 in division games

Panthers 0-4 – 0-2 in division games

As the Bucs enter their early bye week, they will have a hold of the NFC South division lead for the next two weeks as a result of not playing again until October 15 when Tampa Bay hosts the 3-1 Detroit Lions. The Bucs will be wearing their throwback creamsicle uniforms for that game against their old NFC Central division foe.

The Falcons host the 2-2 Houston Texans next week, while the Saints travel to New England to take on the 1-3 Patriots. The Panthers are still searching for their first win of the season and will have a hard time finding it in Detroit next week against the 3-1 Lions.
