As expected the Bucs have been awarded a compensatory draft pick in 2022. The Bucs picked up an additional seventh-round pick for losing offensive lineman Joe Haeg in free agency to Pittsburgh last year. Teams are awarded compensatory draft picks if they lose more players than they gain in free agency from the previous year.
Tampa Bay now has two picks in the seventh round – its own selection at No. 248 and the compensatory pick at No. 261. The compensatory pick is the second to last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
After trading their fifth-round pick to New England for right guard Shaq Mason on Tuesday, the Bucs now have six picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Bucs have their own selections in the first four rounds and the two seventh-rounders. Tampa Bay traded away its sixth-round pick last year.
Tampa Bay’s 2022 NFL Draft Picks
Round 1 – No. 27
Round 2 – No. 60
Round 3 – No. 91
Round 4 – No. 133
Round 7 – No. 248
