Yet another injury to the Bucs has forced them to quickly bring in more players for depth. After signing offensive lineman Dan Feeney last night off of the Bills' practice squad on Wednesday night, they were back at it again Thursday morning. The Bucs signed a familiar face in offensive guard Sua Opeta to the practice squad, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports.
Bucs are bringing back veteran guard Sua Opeta to their practice squad after a workout this morning. Familiar, experienced depth to help as they deal with losing Cody Mauch for the season.

Opeta signed with the Bucs last season and was in competition with Ben Bredeson for the starting left guard position, but he tore his ACL in practice during training camp, ending his year. Coming into this season Opeta signed with the Bucs again and returned about two weeks into camp after recovering from his injury, but did not make the team.

There's a good amount of experience with bringing Opeta in. He previously played for the Eagles from 2019 to 2023, playing in 38 games and starting in 10 of them. Since Opeta has been in Tampa for at least a season he does have some chemistry with teammates compared to other available players. He also practiced on Thursday morning.
Bucs Offensive Line Outlook
There's no way to sugarcoat it, the Bucs are in dire straits along their offensive line. No Luke Goedeke for several weeks, no Cody Mauch for the season, Tristan Wirfs hasn't played a game yet, the two holdover starters from a season ago are playing different positions and now if Jordan can't go, that means another new face on the line.
What makes it even worse about Jordan is that he was not listed on the injury report at all yesterday, which means something may have come up in practice the day before. He'll have another day to recover before the team makes a decision on whether or not he can play. Jordan is also technically on the practice squad and has one more call up before the Bucs would have to sign him to the active roster.

Tampa Bay likely will have to call up another offensive lineman for their home opening game on Sunday against the Jets, whether it's Opeta, Ben Scott or Luke Haggard. They also have Elijah Klein on the active roster that could fill in at guard along with Feeney, who is just coming to a new offense.
Decisions need to be made and it won't be easy for the Bucs to build out a starting unit. It seems to be getting more difficult after each practice.
