The Bucs continue to bring in draft prospects for official 30 visits in preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft. And to no one’s surprise, it’s another defensive player that Pewter Report has learned about. According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander has a official 30 visit in Tampa Bay.

Alexander is viewed as a Top 64 talent by many evaluators in the league.

As Pewter Report reported back in March, the Bucs formally met with Alexander at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was one of four defensive tackles that Tampa Bay had formal interviews with Indy.
Alexander posted 127 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and nine sacks during his Rockets career. He had 40 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks during his senior year, in addition to recovering a fumble and returning an interception 58 yards for a touchdown in the bowl win over Pittsburgh.

At 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, Toledo’s Darius Alexander turned heads at the NFL Scouting Combine when he was timed at 4.95 in the 40-yard dash. That tied the time of Michigan’s Mason Graham, who is expected to be the first defensive tackle off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft, likely in the Top 10.
Alexander will turn 25 in August and is one of the older defensive tackle prospects in the draft, which is part of the reason why he’s considered a second- or third-round draft prospect. With 34-inch arms, this late bloomer really developed into a penetrating, disruptive three-technique defensive tackle for the Rockets.
Alexander really wowed during the Senior Bowl practices where he was unblockable at times and had two tackles, including a tackle for loss in the Senior Bowl game. He was one of the more high-energy defenders during the practices in Mobile, Ala.
The Bucs could have the need for another defensive tackle with Logan Hall entering his contract year after recording 5.5 sacks in a breakout season in 2024. Tampa Bay has now brought in three defensive tackles for official 30 visits, including Alexander.
One of the aspects that both general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles value in defensive linemen is pass breakups. If a defensive lineman can’t get to the quarterback, can he still disrupt a pass play at the line of scrimmage by showing the awareness to bat the ball down? Alexander recorded 13 pass breakups at Toldeo, including eight over the last two years. And his 58-yard interception return for a touchdown against Pittsburgh in the bowl game came from dropping into coverage.
