Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs sent out another snippet of a video on Tuesday hinting at a new throwback uniform. It looks like a white creamsicle uniform with the Bucco Bruce logo is on the way. Expect an announcement coming up next Tuesday, July 15.

Last week on July 1st, the team’s social media account posted a 10 second video of a person walking into a room with the Bucco Bruce logo appearing at the end. While many speculated that it was Steve Spurrier that walked into the room, it couldn’t totally confirmed.

Bucs Reveal New Video

It was answered a week later, though, as the Bucs revealed a 30 second clip that did in fact have Spurrier wearing a throwback collard shirt sitting down in a film room about to watch tape presumably of the Bucs’ first season in 1976. Spurrier was the quarterback then, their first in franchise history in what was also’s Spurrier’s last season.

There was a message delivered by the Bucs with a caption that said “Every Legacy Has A Day One” with the date 7/15/2025 announced in the video for a special reveal. The team would also like fans to know that the Bucs’ team store at Raymond James Stadium will be opening up early at 10:00 AM ET in conjunction with the reveal that’s coming.

Speculating Games To Wear The New Throwbacks

It’s not official yet but presumably these will be white creamsicle uniforms. And because Spurrier was involved in the video, it would make sense that the uniform numbers would be in orange instead of red, which they were changed to a season later. Much of this has to do with it being Tampa Bay’s 50th NFL season.

There’s perhaps even more of a historic element to these potential secondary throwbacks, as the all-white look is what the Bucs wore every week of their inaugural regular season in 1976. The creamsicle jerseys themselves were limited to the preseason only that year. These white jerseys were also only worn in the 1976 season, as the team wore a different version from 1977 on. That new version featured red numbers and a creamsicle trim, as opposed to it being the other way around.

Plenty of speculation has come about that the Bucs will wear their road creamsicles in Week 5 against the Seahawks considering it’s also Seattle’s 50th season. Thus it could be a throwback vs. throwback game with Seattle in their light blue uniforms and the Bucs wearing the road creamsicle.

Another idea that’s been thought of is debuting them in Week 3 for the home opener against the Jets to signify the new start. That game could make perfect sense for a white throwback, as it fits with the announced theme, for one. But it’s also spaced far enough out from the creamsicle game in mid-December, plus the Bucs typically like to wear white at home for early-season day games. Perhaps for this game, though, it’s a different kind of white jersey than the standard modern-era white jersey.

In a week’s time we’ll at least have a look at the uniform to really start what is a historic season.
