Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs’ list of injured players for Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh isn’t nearly as daunting as the Steelers, but it did grow by one player on Saturday. Tampa Bay added starting outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett to the injury report with an illness. He’s listed as questionable for the game.

If Barrett misses the game Anthony Nelson will likely get his fifth NFL start at outside linebacker and reserve Carl Nassib would receive more snaps. Genard Avery would be the fourth outside linebacker in rotation if Barrett were to be out for Sunday’s game.

Barrett joins safety Mike Edwards as questionable for the Steelers game, while wide receiver Julio Jones is listed as doubtful. Jones did not practice all week as he’s resting his injured knee.

The Bucs have three players out for Sunday – safety Logan Ryan (foot), defensive tackle Akiem Hicks (foot), and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (quad).

Steelers Will Be Without 4 Starters In Secondary vs. Bucs

The Steelers are definitely the more banged up team with six players out for Sunday’s game. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), tight end Pat Freiermuth (concussion), defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal (knee) and Pittsburgh’s top three cornerbacks Cameron Sutton (hamstring), Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) and Levi Wallace (concussion) will all miss the Tampa Bay game.

All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt will also miss Sunday’s game against the Bucs, as he’s on injured reserve with knee and pectoral injuries.
