The Bucs announced on Wednesday that they have designated veteran safety Logan Ryan to come off of injured reserve. He has a three-week window in which he can do so and can return as soon as the Bucs’ Monday night home game against the Saints.
We've designated S Logan Ryan to return from injured reserve, which means he can return to practice immediately and could be activated within the next three weeks.#GoBucs

Ryan has been out since Week 4 with a foot injury. He was put on injured reserve in Week 7 after missing the two prior games while still on the roster. When he was available, Ryan has made a great impact on Tampa Bay’s defense with splash plays, including a key forced fumble against the Saints in Week 2 along with a fumble recovery and interception against the Packers in Week 3.
It comes as a needed time that he can return as the Bucs are pretty hurt in the entire secondary. Antoine Winfield Jr. has a high ankle sprain and it’s not looking great that he’ll play on Monday. Sean Murphy-Bunting and Mike Edwards also have contusions, so their status is day-to-day.
With a defense that is still struggling in the turnover department, Ryan’s re-insertion to the lineup when available can add a spark to a unit that can use it.

Bucs Make Other Moves
In another set of roster moves, the Bucs made some additions to their practice squad. They took cornerback Anthony Chelsey off of injured reserve and added him to the practice squad. Tampa Bay signed linebacker J.J. Russell there as well. Chesley played in Weeks 6 and 7 and was injured in that second game. Russell has also played in two games for thee Bucs in Weeks 8 and 9.
To make these moves, the Bucs released defensive tackle Kahlil Davis and safety Quandre Mosely on the same day this week.
