The Tampa Buccaneers have selected Louisiana running back Raymond Calais in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft. This is Bucs last pick for this year. Calais joins fellow rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn, who was picked in the third round, in the Bucs backfield.
Coming into the draft the Bucs had Ronald Jones as the starter with Dare Ogunbowale as third down back and T.J. Logan as a kick returner. There should be some good competition for roster spots after the Bucs doubled up at running back with Calais in round seven.
Calais has a ton of speed that he relies on as both a running back and kick returner. He made first team All-Sun Belt Conference as return specialist and third-team in the conference for running back. With 4.3 speed, Calais as top level speed that the Bucs always like to bring to their roster.
