Latest Bucs Headlines

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Nebraska defensive tackle Khalil Davis in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Davis has an opportunity to provide depth to an already stout defensive line behind Ndamukong Suh and Vita Vea. With Rakeem Nunez-Roches as a the top backup, Davis should start out up behind him.

Davis really improved in both his playing time and his production while at Nebraska, breaking out as a senior with 11 tackles for loss and eight sacks in his first year as a starter  Davis is considered a versatile defensive tackle who is able to play at different positions on defensive line, though it’s his constantly running motor of burst, high effort and a quick get-off for production, that he mostly relies on with his technique and length lacking. Per PFF, Davis recorded a pass-rush win rate, at 12.6 percent, and pressure rate, at 11.8 percent, above 10 percent in only his senior season. He’s another run stopper to add on the Bucs defensive line who will be an athletic project at the NFL level with rotational potential.  He turns 24 year-old during his rookie season.

Davis’ Defensive Stats
2016: 5 Tackles, 2 TFL,
2017: 15 Tackles, 3.5 TFL, 2 Sacks, 1PD, 1 FF
2018: 41 Tackles, 7.5 TFL, 3 Sacks, 1FF, 1 FR
2019: 44 Tackles, 11 TFL, 8 Sacks, 1PD
