Adam Slivon offers his Top 10 Takeaways after the Bucs fell flat during a 24-9 loss to the Lions on Monday Night. After putting up consecutive 30-point performances, the offense sputtered and did not score until just before halftime. Quarterback Baker Mayfield played his worst game of the year, with the offensive line not helping him much. Slivon assesses the offense’s struggles while also looking at the loss of wide receiver Mike Evans.
Seeing him suffer a broken collarbone is going to affect the offense on multiple levels. Defensively, Tampa Bay was unable to stop wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and running back Jahymr Gibbs. St. Brown and Gibbs capitalized on soft pass coverage, but not all was lost with the play of outside linebacker Yaya Diaby and cornerback Jamel Dean. After outside linebacker Haason Reddick left the game and will likely be out for a couple of weeks, Slivon also questions whether the team will add a mercenary as they are in win-now mode.
