Just one day after Mike Evans became the Bucs’ third representative in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, it was announced that his quarterback will be joining him in Orlando.
Baker Mayfield will be replacing Washington’s Jayden Daniels, marking the second straight Pro Bowl appearance for Mayfield.

There is certainly an argument to be made that Mayfield deserved to be a Pro Bowler from the jump this year, as he threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns while rushing for another three.
As it was, Detroit’s Jared Goff, Minnesota’s Sam Darnold and Daniels made the initial roster, while Mayfield was named a first alternate.
Now, after Daniels and the Commanders were just eliminated in the NFC Championship Game this past Sunday, Mayfield will make the trip to Orlando in the rookie’s place.
Mayfield made last year’s Pro Bowl Games as a replacement as well, and he went on to win Offensive MVP honors after winning the precision passing contest for the NFC.
Mayfield will join Evans, left tackle Tristan Wirfs and nose tackle Vita Vea at the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando later this week.

Baker Mayfield isn’t just the first quarterback in Bucs history to earn back-to-back Pro Bowl selections — he’s the first Tampa Bay signal-caller to earn multiple Pro Bowl selections at all.
Mayfield’s 2024 season was one of the best ever by a Buccaneer quarterback. His 4,500 passing yards were the fifth-most in a single season, while his 41 passing touchdowns marked the second-most in a single campaign. Plus, his 407 completions were the third-most in a single season by a Bucs quarterback.
Mayfield also tied Tom Brady’s franchise record for most games in a single season with 3+ passing touchdowns, and he joined Brady (three times), Drew Brees (twice), Peyton Manning (twice), Dan Marino (twice), Matthew Stafford (twice), Patrick Mahomes (twice), Joe Burrow, Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers as the only quarterbacks to throw for 4,500 yards and 40 touchdowns in a single season.

With a second straight Pro Bowl season with big numbers, Mayfield is quickly rising up the ranks in Bucs history.
Tampa Bay’s quarterback history certainly isn’t illustrious, but through two seasons, Mayfield is ninth in passing yards (8,544), seventh in passing touchdowns (69) and ninth in completions (771).
Mayfield is on pace to be sixth all-time in passing yards, third in passing touchdowns and third in completions by this time next year.
The Bucs may have lost the offensive coordinator behind Mayfield’s 2024 Pro Bowl season, but they also previously lost the coordinator behind his 2023 Pro Bowl season.
So, whoever ends up getting the job to replace Liam Coen in the coming days or weeks, they will inherit a back-to-back Pro Bowler who has shown a knack for adapting.
