Something very rare happened at Friday’s practice for the Bucs. After the session was done, it sounded as if the Bucs’ top players that have been battling through injury in recent weeks will all be good to go for Tampa Bay’s wildcard playoff game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.

That of course would safety Antoine Winfield Jr, cornerback Jamel Dean and tight end Cade Otton. Head coach Todd Bowles said as a such after leaving no doubt for the defensive backs and some optimism for their starting tight end. The only player that will be out is cornerback Troy Hill, who is still on injured reserve but has the practice window opened up.

“Antoine and Jamel are fine,” Bowles said. “Cade is trending the right way – we’ll see how he recovers.”
The Bucs have desperately needed Winfield back as the safety room has been ravaged by injuries. He’s missed eight games this season, including the last four. Dean was also just as much needed as opponents began to pick on his replacement, Josh Hayes. Dean missed last week’s game and has been out five games total on the season.
Despite Otton missing the previous three games, backup tight ends Payne Durham and rookie Devin Culp have picked up the slack in his absence. Durham has scored a touchdown in the last two games, while Culp has recorded five catches for 88 yards in that same timeframe. If Otton is able to go, it gives another weapon for Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay’s offense.
Here is the last injury report of the week for the Bucs and Commanders ahead of their postseason matchup.
