Following the fallout of the Dolphins’ penalties for tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles was asked about it after Wednesday’s practice.

Brady had been in discussions with the Dolphins as far back as 2019, but that spilled over to his time with the Bucs last season. Despite that, Bowles said it doesn’t impact his team and seemed to dismiss the subject.

“The league took care of it,” Bowles said. “It doesn’t have anything to do with us. We try to keep outside noise to a minimum, and there’s nothing to be said on that front.”

When asked whether it was hurtful to him or a distraction to the Bucs, Bowles once again sounded unaffected.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Bowles said. “There’s just not a lot going on in sports right now, so we’re not making anything bigger than this.”

What’s already been a wild offseason has continued at the same level since training camp began. It started off with the signing of Julio Jones, and now this is next on the docket.

The Bucs will host the Dolphins for joint practices on Aug. 10 and 11. Then, they’ll play against each other in a preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 13. After the recent news involving each side, those practices and games just got that much more interesting.
