Home field advantage? Not on the last play for the Bucs.

The biggest controversy coming out of the Bucs’ 14-12 loss to the Packers was an image on the Jumbotron at Raymond James Stadium that may have given the Packers an advantage defending the two-point conversion.

After Tampa Bay pulled within two points, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers noticed something on the Jumbotron about the Bucs’ alignment and alerted his defensive teammates. Green Bay knocked Tom Brady’s pass down for an incompletion.

Someone has some explaining to do.

“We’re meeting this afternoon,” Bowles said on Monday when asked if he was looking into it further with the operations team.

Could this have given a legitimate advantage to the Bucs’ opponent? Bowles will need to see the tape first before making that decision.

“I don’t know,” Bowles said. “I would have to see it and talk to the people first.”

That wasn’t the only snafu on the final sequence of the game. The Bucs were penalized for a delay of game penalty, moving them back five yards. This gave Tampa Bay no other choice but to pass the ball from the seven-yard line, which was batted down by De’Vondre Campbell as Brady was looking for Russell Gage.

Apparently, there was one clock that said their was 25 seconds on the play clock while another that only said 20 seconds. Bowles went into further detail.

“One time it said 25, the next it said 20,” Bowles said. “We’re looking into it right now. We’ll send it in [to the NFL] and see what they say. But we’ve got to get the ball off. We’ve got to be cognizant of that as a unit and we’ve plaYed enough ball to where we know we’ve got to get the ball snapped.
