Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs continue to host 2023 NFL Draft prospects at the team’s AdventHealth Training Facility. The latest visit to become known is LSU outside linebacker/edge rusher B.J. Ojulari. The news was first reported by NFL reporter Aaron Wilson on Twitter.

Ojulari is one of the top pass rushers in this year’s draft and is expected to be drafted on Day 2 in either the second or the third round. In three years at LSU, Ojulari recorded a total of 16.5 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. His best season came during his sophomore year when he recorded seven sacks. Last year as a junior, Ojulari notched 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The Bucs have spent several draft picks on LSU products before. General manager Jason Licht drafted linebacker Kwon Alexander in the fourth round in 2015, linebacker Kendall Beckwith in the third round in 2017, linebacker Devin White in the first round in 2019 and outside linebacker Andre Anthony in the seventh round last year.

Ojulari, the brother of Giants edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, is one of several edge rushers the Bucs have shown an interest in during the 2023 pre-draft process. The Bucs met with him informally at the NFL Scouting Combine and had formal interviews with Iowa State’s Will McDonald, Auburn’s Derick Hall, Kansas State’s Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Missouri’s Isaiah McGuire and Louisville’s YaYa Diaby.

Tampa Bay also brought in Georgia outside linebacker Nolan Smith for a pre-draft Top 30 visit earlier in the week. Ojulari marks the ninth known Top 30 visitor in Tampa Bay, joining the likes of Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker, Houston quarterback Clayton Tune, Bowling Green defensive tackle Karl Brooks, Northwestern defensive tackle Adetomiwa Adebawore, Oklahoma center Chris Murray, Texas running back Roschon Johnson and Smith.
