Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs continue to bring in draft prospects for Top 30 visits ahead of next week’s 2023 NFL Draft. The latest Bucs draft target to visit the team’s headquarters is Oklahoma left tackle Anton Harrison, who posted his visit on his Instagram page on Monday.

Harrison is the second known offensive tackle to visit the Bucs on a Top 30 visit this month. Tampa Bay also hosted Tennessee right tackle Darnell Wright and Oklahoma interior offensive lineman Chris Murray, who is regarded as a late-round pick or priority free agent.

Both Wright and Harrison are expected to be first-round picks. Tampa Bay met with both Harrison and Wright formally at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Pewter Report had Tennessee right tackle Darnell Wright going to Tampa Bay in the first round in its latest Bucs Mock Draft. But Wright’s draft stock is soaring and he may not be available when the Bucs select at No. 19. However, Oklahoma left tackle Anton Harrison may be available when Tampa Bay is on the clock in the first round. And there is even a chance the Bucs could trade back in the first round and get Harrison a few spots later while adding another pick or two.

The 21-year old Harrison was a two-year starter for the Sooners and has plenty of upside. With the Bucs releasing Donovan Smith, Tampa Bay could use another talented left tackle along the offensive line. Harrison has good speed and movement on zone blocking plays and is sound in pass protection. He only surrendered four sacks in college, and just one during his junior season.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Harrison is a plug-and-play starter at left tackle and could keep Tristan Wirfs on the right side of the offensive line, where he has developed into an All-Pro. Wirfs revealed that he is currently training at both left and right tackle this offseason in case the Bucs don’t select a left tackle and he is forced to move to that side of the ball.
