Latest Bucs Headlines

The 2023 NFL Draft is 17 days away and the Bucs continue to host draft prospects on Top 30 visits to the AdventHealth Training Facility. The latest known prospect is Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, who is one of four quarterbacks expected to be drafted in the first round along with Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson. Levis’ visit was first reported by SI’s Albert Breer.

With Young and Stroud vying to be the top overall pick by Carolina, Richardson and Levis are seen as the next two quarterbacks that will be drafted in the first round. Of the four first-round quarterbacks, Levis has the best chance at possibly being there at No. 19 when the Bucs are on the clock.

Levis was a two-year starter for the Wildcats after transferring from Penn State in 2021. He completed 66% of his passes for 2,826 yards with 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions as a junior, while rushing for 376 yards and nine touchdowns.

Last year as a senior, Levis’ stats declined. He completed 65.4% of his passes for 2,406 yards with 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He didn’t run the ball often during his senior season, totaling minus-107 yards (due to sacks) and scoring just two TDs.

Levis finished his two years at Kentucky as a two-time team captain and leader and went 17-7 as a starter. At 6-foot-4, 229 pounds, Levis is physically built for the NFL game and has a strong arm. He needs to make better decisions with the football and work on his accuracy.

The Bucs have now had Top 30 visits with three quarterbacks in the 2023 draft class. Levis joins Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker and Houston’s Clayton Tune as quarterbacks that have visited Tampa Bay. The Bucs now have 11 known Top 30 visits, including Kansas State cornerback Julius Brents, as Pewter Report reported on Saturday.
