While the holiday season may be wrapping up, that did not stop the Bucs’ inside linebackers from wrapping up and presenting two local moms with vehicles after practice on Friday afternoon at the AdventHealth Training Center.
Shelizia Huff and Maryclaire Sackett were the recipients of two Ford vehicles thanks to the donations of linebackers K.J. Britt, Lavonte David, SirVocea Dennis, Daniel Grzesiak, Antonio Grier Jr., Deion Jones, and J.J. Russell, as well as co-defensive coordinator Larry Foote.
Below are videos of David’s statement on behalf of the players, each mother’s touching reaction to being gifted a vehicle, and the unveiling of their new rides.
The #Bucs inside linebackers, led by Lavonte David, took the time on Friday afternoon to give back and gift a pair of vehicles to local mothers Shelizia and Maryclaire.

Lavonte David is an underappreciated wonder and has shown throughout his NFL career that he is not only a leader and captain on the field, but also one off it.
David spoke this afternoon on behalf of the players about what giving back to local moms in need means, especially after Hurricanes Helene and Milton ravaged the Tampa Bay community back in late September and early October.
It was made possible not only through the donations made by everyone within the Bucs organization but also through local nonprofits Metropolitan Ministries and Wheels of Success as well as the Ford of Port Richey car dealership.
“First and foremost, I want to thank Metropolitan Ministries, Wheels of Success and Ford [of Port Richey] for opening themselves to us to be able to do something like this,” David said. “On behalf of the inside linebacker group, we just felt like doing something that was close to our heart and dear to our heart, especially with everything with the storms and everything and then the holidays coming around.

“We were able to brainstorm together and decided this was something that we could do to change people’s lives. We’re definitely grateful and thankful for everybody partnering with us and for the organization for reaching out. Thank you guys and God bless.”
The vehicles provided will allow both mothers who have struggled with transportation an opportunity to sustain full-time employment, limiting out-of-pocket costs on public transportation, and increasing their time spent with their children.
It was a great way for the Bucs players to take initiative and give back to the Tampa Bay community. As much as they make an impact on the field, this is another instance of the team going above and beyond to impact and change lives.
This comes at the same time wide receiver Mike Evans is in the running to win the 2024 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his own work through his Mike Evans Family Foundation. It’s hard to find a team with as many players willing to give back to such a large extent.
