*Editor’s Update 6:59 pm: Jalen McMillan warmed up prior to the game and based on that it was determined he would not be able to play. He has since been listed as inactive for the game and Marquez Callaway, who was elevated from the practice squad for the game, will take his spot on the gameday roster.
The Bucs released their final injury report on Saturday following the team’s final practice before boarding a plane for Kansas City on Sunday. Tampa Bay head coach ruled long snapper Evan Deckers, who is still coming off injured reserve, wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) and defensive tackle Greg Gaines (calf) out for the game against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
But what about the five players who were listed as questionable for Monday’s game at Kansas City?
Here’s the latest that Pewter Report knows about those five banged up Bucs right now.
All 5 Bucs Listed As Questionable Will Play
The Bucs have had hamstring issues at wide receiver this year – and not just with Mike Evans. Jalen McMillan, the team’s third-round pick, pulled a hamstring on the Friday practice prior to the team’s win over the Eagles and missed that game, plus the Thursday night game in Atlanta versus the Falcons. He returned to action at New Orleans but didn’t record a catch. McMillan had three receptions for 15 yards against the Ravens and a career-high four catches for 35 yards in last week’s loss to the Falcons.

All of a sudden McMillan tweaked his hamstring again during Saturday’s practice. He’s expected to start and play against the Chiefs, but it bears watching, as hamstrings can be tricky injuries. Just ask Evans.
Speaking of hamstring injuries, wide receiver Sterling Shepard suffered a hamstring injury against the Falcons and left the game for a bit before returning. He missed practice on Thursday and Friday and was limited on Saturday. He’s expected to give it a go against the Chiefs, but will he be able to play through the injury and finish the game? That’s the big question.
Running back Bucky Irving followed suit from a week ago and missed the first two practices of the week before being limited on Saturday with a toe injury. This toe injury will linger all year, according to Bucs head coach Todd Bowles. But Irving is expected to play versus the Chiefs just as he did against the Falcons.
On defense, nickelback Tykee Smith was a full participant this week in practice after missing last week’s game against the Falcons with a concussion he suffered versus the Ravens. He graduated from a non-contact jersey on Thursday to a regular jersey on Friday, which is a good sign towards him clearing concussion protocol. Pewter Report cannot get confirmation that Smith cleared the protocol, but he was certainly trending in that direction as of Saturday.

Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. was added to the injury report with a foot injury on Friday and then did not practice on Saturday. Bowles did not say whether the foot injury is the same one that occurred in Week 1 and caused him to miss the next four games before returning to action in Week 6 at New Orleans. Winfield was given Saturday to rest his foot with the hope he can on Monday night and play the whole game. Winfield is expected to start, but this is an injury that also bears watching.
Left guard Ben Bredeson has been limited with a shoulder injury all week and missed practice on Saturday, but he was taken off the injury list officially and will start against the Chiefs.
Linebacker Lavonte David sprained his ankle against the Falcons on Sunday, but returned to the game and will play on Monday. He missed the first two practices of the week, but was a full participant on Saturday as he was taken off the official injury report.
The same applies to defensive tackle Will Gholston, who was limited on Thursday and Friday with a knee injury and then rested on Saturday. Gholston will play against the Chiefs.
