The Bucs conducted another walk-through at the AdventHealth Training Center on Thursday ahead of their NFC Divisional Round matchup in Detroit against the Lions on Sunday. And despite having two players not participate and another two participate in a limited capacity, Tampa Bay is largely healthy heading into the second weekend of the postseason.

Given where they are in the season, the Bucs have an impressive bill of health. You need to have the injury bug stay away to make a deep run into the playoffs, which is something this team benefitted from in 2020 on their way to the Super Bowl before being on the wrong end of it the following year, when they had a long list of injuries as they were handed an exit in the very same round they’re entering this weekend.

After playing on Monday night and having Tuesday off, the Bucs have taken it easy this week with walk-throughs on both Wednesday and Thursday.

“Quick Wednesday turnaround, but [it was a] walk-through – we’ve been on a good schedule,” quarterback Baker Mayfield said Wednesday. “It’s just like everybody else – just recovering and getting into the gameplan. Do the mental work and get your body ready.”

There don’t seem to be any significant concerns as of right now as far as unavailability for Sunday goes, though Shaq Barrett (ankle) and Chase Edmonds (toe) have not participated in either walk-through this week.

Yaya Diaby (shoulder) and Chris Godwin (knee) were both upgraded to limited participants after missing Wednesday, while  Mayfield (ankle/ribs) once again fully participated after saying Wednesday he came out of Monday’s win over the Eagles OK.

“By Wednesday standards, yeah,” he said. “I didn’t take too many hits. I feel pretty good. It was a physical game, but for the most part we came out all right.”

The Lions are mostly in a similar spot as the Bucs, as they’ll head into the weekend pretty healthy. Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) did go from a full participant in Wednesday’s walk-through to a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. He played in last week’s win over the Rams despite being carted off the field with a knee injury in Week 18. Whether Thursday was a setback or not remains to be seen, as Friday’s injury report will tell the full story for Detroit just like it will for Tampa Bay.
