UPDATED: The Bucs have lost another center in training camp. Robert Hainsey, who replaced the injured Ryan Jensen as Tampa Bay’s starter, suffered severe cramps. Hainsey pulled up near the end of Wednesday’s joint practice. He limped off the field where he was helped to the sidelines by two trainers. The second-year lineman was hunched over and laboring as he was helped to a cart. He was taken inside for evaluation and treatment.

Hainsey’s cramps in his legs were the result of the sweltering heat and humidity during Wednesday’s practice. The Bucs began practice at 10:00 a.m. today instead of their normal 8:30 a.m. start when temperatures are cooler.

Either way, Hainsey didn’t return to practice and Nick Leverett and John Molchon were the only centers left. Hainsey was seen walking around after practice following an IV where he confirmed that he was okay and just suffered cramps.

That comes as good news as Tampa Bay’s preseason game against Miami is on Saturday. The team will need Hainsey to get as much game experience as possible prior to the start of the season with him replacing Jensen in the starting lineup. Jensen was at Wednesday’s practice riding around on a cart with his injured left leg wrapped up in a brace.
