The Bucs already came into Sunday’s game against the Saints with Dan Feeney at right guard and Ben Chukwuma getting his first career NFL start at left tackle in place of Tristan Wirfs. The injuries continued to rain down throughout the afternoon, with the most severe appearing to be left guard Ben Bredeson.

Bredeson went down in the second quarter with a knee injury. After it initially looked like he would need more assistance getting off the field, the veteran offensive lineman came off under his own power. It was not surprising that after being ruled questionable to return, he was ruled out as the second half got underway.

Losing Ben Bredeson Is Just The Latest Injury Bucs Have To Deal With

Ben Bredeson has already missed time this season, missing two games with a hamstring injury. It remains to be seen the severity of Bredeson’s knee injury and how long he could be out, but being on a short week playing Thursday night makes it tough to see him going. There was an abundance of optimism leading into matchup against the Saints, with everyone imagining what the offense could look like with wide receivers Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan.

As has been the theme of this season, when one player returns, another one goes down. With Tristan Wirfs missing this game with an oblique injury, the offensive line is once again a ragtag group. Michael Jordan filled in for Ben Bredeson and has started games at each guard spot, with it appearing to be his job until there is more of an update provided this week.
