The Bucs can’t seem to escape injury in any game this season. While Tampa captured their first NFC South Division Title since 2007, the 32-6 victory over the Carolina Panthers was tainted by an injury to Pro Bowler Shaq Barrett.

Barrett was injured with just 44 seconds left in the first half. It looked as if a teammate had stepped on his foot/ankle. He remained down on the ground for a few minutes before walking off on his own power. Barrett went straight into the locker room for evaluation.

The team announced at halftime that he had suffered a knee injury and his return was questionable. That left Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, Anthony Nelson and Cam Gill as the lone players available at outside linebacker with Jason Pierre-Paul ruled out prior to the game. Barrett returned to the game for a few defensive plays after the half, but was quickly downgraded to out after the defensive series.

Bucs head coach Bruce Arians was asked about Barrett’s injury after the game.

“It looks like a minor MCL right now,”Arians said.

Antonio Brown was also seen favoring his ankle at one point, but never left the game. He was the team’s leading receiver with 10 catches for 101 yards. Special teams linebacker Grant Stuard looked like he injured his arm as well. It happened on a play where he was helping to make a tackle on a kickoff late in the third quarter. Stuard didn’t miss any time and received reps on defense late in the game.

Asked about potential injuries they may have occurred Arians said, “Yeah, just little stuff. They’re fine.”

The Bucs will hope Barrett’s injury isn’t too serious as they face the Jets next Sunday.
