The Bucs signed long snapper Zach Triner earlier in the day, but that was just the beginning of several moves they made on Tuesday. The reason for signing Triner was because of a hamstring injury to Evan Deckers, who has been put on injured reserve. Deckers will be unavailable for the next four games.

Tampa Bay also announced that they have signed punter Trenton Gill and cornerback Keenan Isaac to the practice squad. To make room for them, the Bucs released punter Seth Vernon from the practice squad as well.
Overview Of Bucs Roster Moves
During the 2024 training camp in Tampa, Deckers and Triner battled it out for the starting job. Deckers, who at age 25 is eight years younger than the 33 year old Triner had won it out. It had partially had to do with Deckers’ contract being less expensive. Triner gets to continue his NFL career with the Bucs and it’ll be interesting to see what happens when Deckers becomes available again.
Isaac has been with the Bucs since last season making their practice squad as a rookie. He was let go during roster cuts this training camp and briefly signed to the Panther’s 53-man roster. Shortly after Isaac was released and then was back with the Bucs. With injuries all around the roster, corner has been hit as well with Bryce Hall out for the season.

Tampa Bay does have their starters ready with Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum with rookie undrafted free agent Tyrek Funderburk available and Tavierre Thomas able to play several positions, Isaac might be an insurance policy for the group.
When the Bucs signed Seth Vernon in training camp, it was more looked at as having an extra leg to give a break to Jake Camarda, even though Camarda had his struggles. Those issues have continued for Camarda over the first two games of the season, though he was better in Week 3.
The newly signed Gill does have NFL experience and could be a viable option to come in and punt for the Bucs if they continue to lose their trust in Camarda. Gill was drafted by the Bears in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s played in 34 NFL games and made 133 career punts. He spent this year’s training camp with the Broncos.
Depending on how Camarda fares in Week 4 against the Eagles, his once promising outlook with the Bucs might be in jeopardy if he doesn’t punt better. Camarda is very helpful doing kickoffs as well but his top priority is punting and Tampa Bay needs more efficiency out of him.
