Now that the dust has settled with the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in the rearview, the 2025 NFL Draft comes even more into focus in its aftermath. Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds, Matt Matera, Adam Slivon and Bailey Adams along with many national reporters were in Indianapolis, Indiana, where Bucs general manager Jason Licht and head coach Todd Bowles spoke with the media and shared glimpses into what they have on their minds with the draft a month and a half away.
For Tampa Bay, after meeting formally and informally with many of the top prospects on their board, they have a better idea of who they will select when they are on the clock. The fact remains that the team will likely be going defensive-heavy next month to add talent at each level. Check out what the latest mock drafts say and keep up to date with our insight on PewterReport.com.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Alabama ILB Jihaad Campbell
Lavonte David and K.J. Britt are set to be free agents, so the Bucs have a big void at linebacker. Even if David returns, the 35-year-old is likely nearing the end of his career. Campbell is one of my favorite players in this class, and Tampa Bay could pass the LB torch to him.
He can play multiple spots, excels off the ball (112 tackles in 2024) and makes plays in the backfield (five sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss). He also has great instincts in pass coverage, as well as the ability to be deployed as a blitzer or off the edge in late-down situations. He still needs to work as a run defender in the box, but the upside is there.
No. 51 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Ole Miss WR Tre Harris
The Bucs hit with their pick of Jalen McMillan last year, but Chris Godwin is a pending free agent and this selection could start their succession plan for Mike Evans. Harris is a long-striding, three-level receiving threat who can create explosive plays for the Bucs’ new-look offense under Josh Grizzard.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Marshall EDGE Mike Green
As long as the Buccaneers wouldn’t be concerned with Green’s off-field baggage, the Marshall product has the play speed and violence in his game to be a disruptive player, both as a pass rusher and run defender.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Alabama ILB Jihaad Campbell
Tampa Bay needs a linebacker and Campbell may be the only first-round player at the position this year. When life gives you lemons, you know the rest.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr.
Pearce is a slippery pass rusher with an explosive get-off — that might be hard for the Bucs to pass up, considering their need for edge juice.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Georgia EDGE/ILB Jalon Walker
The Bucs have issues at linebacker and on the edge of their defense, with holes up and down the front seven. Why not try and solve both with one stone? I think Walker is more EDGE than off-ball, but in Todd Bowles’ defense he’s a perfect fit.
No. 51 – Tampa Bay Bucs: UCLA ILB Carson Schwesinger

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Alabama ILB Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell is, in a word, explosive. He can rush the passer from the edge or play off-ball linebacker, and he’ll look like the best player on the field from either position. He’s one of the best athletes in this class, and the scary part is he’s just scratching the surface; he’s going to get bigger, stronger and faster — and he just turned 21 years old in February.

No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Iowa State CB Darien Porter
Fit: The Bucs love those big, long corners! And with Jamel Dean missing nine games over the last two seasons while posting just one interception and creeping closer to age 30, now may be the time to draft one of the biggest and longest corners in this year’s class. Porter can absolutely fly, too — making him a potential big-time talent to play under Todd Bowles.
No. 51 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Ohio State EDGE J.T. Tuimoloau
Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema
No. 19 – Tampa Bay Bucs: Boston College EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku
The Buccaneers have to improve at getting after passers without blitzing — even blitz-happy head coach Todd Bowles admitted that. At his combine podiums session, Bowles emphasized the Buccaneers will look at production on the ball when adding to their trenches. Ezeiruaku recorded 44 tackles for loss, 37 sacks, four pass breakups and eight forced fumbles in the past three years. He’s the textbook definition of what Tampa Bay is looking for, especially after recording elite times in the three-cone (6.94 seconds, 91st percentile) and short shuttle (4.19 seconds, 92nd percentile).
