On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got some great news. Quarterback Tom Brady announced he was coming out of his two-month retirement to re-join the team for the 2022 season. Brady’s retirement lasted just 41 days before he opted to return to the Bucs. And with his announcement, the betting world is immediately reacting.
Prior to Brady’s return, the Bucs Super Bowl odds were set at 20-1. But with Brady back in the fold, the odds have moved to 10-1. The Bucs odds to win the NFC Championship game have also doubled, from 10-1 to 5-1. ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted the movement on Twitter.

Even with Brady back, the Bucs have considerable work to do on the rest of their roster. 24 players are set to hit free agency, ten of whom are starters. Cornerback Carlton Davis, safety Jordan Whitehead, guard Alex Cappa and defensive tackles Will Gholston and Ndamukong Suh top the list. Thankfully, center Ryan Jensen has already re-upped with the team on a new contract.
Also, the Bucs will now see if tight end Rob Gronkowski wants to continue playing. The tight end considered retirement early in the offseason. Gronkowski has yet to make an announcement about his future. Free agent running back Leonard Fournette is expected to move on, despite his admiration for Brady. But the Bucs will be a top landing spot for veterans looking for a 2022 shot at a title.
