The Bucs took a blow to their offensive line as The Athletic’s Greg Auman reports that versatile backup offensive lineman Mike Liedtke will be out for all of 2019 with a season ending shoulder injury.
Liedtke had not practiced during the Bucs training camp. He was a lineman that could play both guard and tackle, and received some playing time in the 2018 season, playing in nine games.
Beginning his career with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent, he went on to play on the practice squad for the Chiefs, Jets, and Browns before signing with the Bucs in November of 2016. He then was added to the 53-man roster in December of 2017.
Liedtke has played 10 games in his NFL career, all with the Bucs.
As Bucs wait for word on DT Vita Vea, there’s tough news for their offensive line depth, as the shoulder injury that has sidelined Mike Liedtke will be season-ending. Versatile backup, 27, played in nine games last year.
