The Bucs will be without offensive lineman Aaron Stinnie for the remainder of the season after suffering an injury in the Bucs’ preseason game against the Titans.
As Stinnie was blocking on a run play, running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn was tackled into the back of Stinnie’s leg. He was carted off after and it did not look good. The day after the game, Todd Bowles confirmed that Stinnie unfortunately had a torn ACL and MCL and would be out for the rest of the season.

Stinnie was in the competition for starting left guard. He was competing with both Nick Leverett and rookie Luke Goedeke for the role. The Bucs would continuously change out the left guard position on a regular basis in each practice. It started out with Stinnie and Leverett getting the reps as Goedeke was transitioning from tackle to guard. This week during joint practice, Goedeke got the starting nod and did so as well in the preseason game.
Stinnie was an important part of the Bucs’ Super Bowl winning run during the 2020 season. After Alex Cappa was out for the playoffs, Stinnie was inserted in and did a good job helping the Bucs win a championship. He resumed a backup role last season, starting in one game and playing in another six of them.
Unless the Bucs look for a free agent player, they will essentially have a two-player battle for starting left guard between Leverett and Goedeke. They have one more preseason game next week to determine who will be lining up between Robert Hainsey and Donovan Smith this season.
