Amongst the other punters in the NFL, Camarda leads the league in average yards per punt (54.9) along with being tied for longest punt at 74 with Ryan Stonehouse. His seven punts inside the 20 are third around the league.
Given the situation that the Bucs are in, they’re going to need to win in the special teams phase, which Camarda has been a big help in.
The Bucs and Camarda have a huge test this week against the New Orleans Saints. Typically they have great special teams units. This includes returner Rashid Shaheed, who already has a punt return touchdown this season. In a game where the two teams are similar, a special teams play might make the difference in the game. It’ll be up to Camarda to neutralize New Orleans in the battle for field position.
