Auclair’s injured reserve placement is of minor designation, meaning that with the new rules this season he will be out for a minimum of three weeks and can come back after that.
Auclair is the fourth string tight end on the Bucs’ roster behind Rob Gronkowksi, O.J. Howard and Cam Brate. He played in 11 snaps in the Bucs’ opening game against New Orleans, all coming from special teams.
The Bucs currently have tight end Tanner Hudson on the practice squad, who could be called up to the active roster and take his place. Hudson played in nine games for the Bucs last season where he played 53 snaps on special teams and 103 snaps on offense.
