From the Buccaneers Communications Department:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Tuesday that the team has placed tight end Alan Cross and safety Justin Evans on Injured Reserve and promoted tight end Donnie Ernsberger to the active roster from the practice squad.

Cross has played in all 14 games for the Buccaneers this year, with two starts.

Evans started all 10 games he played in for Tampa Bay this season, recording 59 tackles, two passes defensed, one interception and one fumble recovery, returned 34 yards for a touchdown.

Ernsberger (6-2, 237) originally entered the league this past offseason as a college free agent with Tampa Bay. He spent the offseason and preseason with the Buccaneers. A native of Battle Creek, Michigan, Smith played collegiately at Western Michigan. He wears No. 86 for Tampa Bay.
