The Bucs can’t seem to get through a game healthy this season, especially in the secondary. Starting cornerback Carlton Davis was ruled out in the second quarter of game against the Patriots.

Davis injured his quad on a non-contact play late in the second quarter. He was able to walk off the field with help from trainers, but took a cart back to the locker room. His injury left the Bucs thin at cornerback. Head coach Bruce Arians was asked about Davis’ status after the game.
“No (update),” Arians said. “It’ll be awhile it looks like.”
Antoine Winfield Jr. also left the game with a concussion in the fourth quarter and would not return. Mike Edwards would replace him in the lineup. When asked post-game about Winfield Jr’s status, Arians said the safety is in the concussion protocol.

All three starting corners for the Bucs are now out with injury. Sean Murphy-Bunting left the Dallas Cowboys game with a dislocated elbow and has been placed on injured reserve. Two weeks later, Jamel Dean left with a knee injury early in the game against the Rams. Dean practiced all week, but was ruled out on Friday.
The Bucs had to rely heavily on the newly signed Richard Sherman, who had just three days of practice with the team. Corners Ross Cockrell, Dee Delaney and Pierre Desir, who was promoted to the active roster after signing to the practice squad three weeks ago, saw extensive playing time. Rashard Robinson has also been elevated from the practice squad the past two weeks, playing mostly on special teams.
