On Friday, Tampa Bay added another to the list of re-signings. They announced that they have signed core special teamer, Zach Triner. This upcoming season will be be Triner’s sixth year with the team after signing with the team in 2019.

He won a Super Bowl with the Bucs in 2020 and has been a mainstay on Tampa Bay’s special teams season after season.

Triner has played in 75 career regular season games and nine more in the playoffs. In 2021 he missed eight games with a finger injury that put him on injured reserve.

Last season, Triner appeared on the injury report occasionally during the week because of a hip injury but played in every game. Triner has 10 career tackles.

Tampa Bay re-signed kicker Chase McLaughlin earlier in the offseason, reuniting the special teamer trio of McLaughlin, Triner and punter Jake Camarda. McLaughlin had a career year hitting every extra point and made over 90% of his field goals.

Camarda won Special Teams Player Of The Week in Week 2 and later won NFC Special Teams Player Of The Month for September. He’s considered to be in the upper echelon of punters around the league.

The Bucs keep a really solid group together in the kicking game. This season, they will be working with a new special teams coach as Thomas McGaughey was hired in February. As a group, they will look to continue on their successful endeavors.
