Mike Evans became the Bucs all-time leader in receptions with 431 after his two yard touchdown catch in the third quarter, surpassing former Bucs running back James Wilder. Evans made his ninth reception of the game on Sunday to break the record.
With ten minutes remaining in the third quarter, Evans has nine catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns so far on the day.
Evans, who is in his sixth-year with the Bucs, now holds the franchise record in three of the most prolific receiving categories – receptions (431), receiving yards (6,567), and touchdowns (46).
The new all-time leader in receptions is no stranger to breaking records. He broke three a season prior, which included receiving yards, touchdowns, and the single-season receiving yards record.
Evans’ record breaking reception puts him at 36 catches for 646 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
