We’re somehow already in Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season, and this is a week that will see the 5-1, NFC-leading Bucs head to Detroit for a matchup against the 4-2 Lions on Monday Night Football. Tampa Bay will be looking for a second straight win over Detroit at Ford Field, plus it’ll be looking for its second three-game winning streak of the season.

This is obviously a huge game for the NFC playoff picture, which is still a crowded one with one-third of the season in the rearview mirror. The Bucs have a 1.5-game lead in the NFC South race, while the Lions come into the weekend right on the heels of the 3-1-1 Packers in the NFC North race. Of course, there’s also the possibility that this Monday night contest will come back to decide seeding when the end of the season rolls around.

Another win for Tampa Bay would mean staying in the driver’s seat for the NFC’s No. 1 seed and the first-round bye and home-field advantage that comes with it. Todd Bowles and Co. would be 6-1, for one thing, but they would also have head-to-head wins over the Seahawks, 49ers and Lions.

As usual, there will be other storylines to follow in this primetime matchup, and that’s the reason we’re here right now. As we do every week here on PewterReport.com, it’s now time to take a look at what else is on the line during this week’s game. Of course, we’re talking about some of the records and milestones that some key Bucs are moving toward.

Last week, Rachaad White passed Cadillac Williams (24) for the sixth-most touchdowns from scrimmage by a running back in Bucs history, Vita Vea tied Jason Pierre-Paul and Brad Culpepper for the ninth-most sacks in team history and Baker Mayfield passed Josh Freeman for the third-most passing touchdowns in franchise history. Plus, Todd Bowles passed Bruce Arians for the fourth-most wins by a head coach in team history.

Now, let’s see where things stand and what’s at stake heading into Monday night’s game in the Motor City.

Bucs Record Watch: Week 7 at Lions

Baker Mayfield

Mayfield needs one more win to pass Josh Freeman and Vinny Testaverde (24) for the sixth-most by a starting quarterback in team history.

With a 300-yard passing game, Mayfield will pass Doug Williams (10) for the fourth-most in franchise history.

Mayfield is only eight rushing yards away from having the second-most in his career, trailing only the 378 yards he had last year.

Rachaad White

White is one touchdown away from passing Errict Rhett (25) for the fifth-most touchdowns from scrimmage by a running back in Bucs history. With three more touchdowns, he’ll tie Warrick Dunn and Doug Martin (28) for the third-most.

White is also two receiving touchdowns away from tying Mike Alstott (13) for the most by a running back/fullback in franchise history.

Mike Evans

If Evans is able to suit up for the first time since Week 3, he’ll continue his chase for more history. He is 223 receiving yards away from passing Jason Witten (13,046) for the 21st-most in NFL history.

Evans is also two receptions away from passing Irving Fryar (851) for 33rd-most in league history. With 11 more receptions, he’ll pass Muhsin Muhammad (860) for the 32nd-most, while 13 more would move him ahead of Jimmy Smith (862) for the 31st-most.

As for Evans’ quest to own sole possession of the NFL record for the most consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons with his 12th, he has his work cut out for him. He needs 860 yards to reach 1,000 for this season, meaning he needs to average 78.2 yards per game over the final 11 games of the season.

Monday is set to be Evans’ 172nd game with the Bucs, leaving him 11 away from tying Paul Gruber (183) for the sixth-most in team history. It’ll be his 171st start, which leaves him 12 away from tying Gruber (183) for the fourth-most in franchise history.

Emeka Egbuka

The Bucs got some very interesting and potentially exciting news Saturday when Egbuka returned to practice only six days after picking up a hamstring injury in the win over the 49ers. It was thought that he would be out this week against the Lions, and he still might be. However, heading into Monday night, he carries a questionable tag and is considered a game-time decision. So, if he can suit up, he’ll be in play to make some history as well.

With two receiving touchdowns, Egbuka would tie Martavis Bryant (seven) for the most receiving touchdowns through the first seven games of a career in NFL history.

Egbuka is also 109 receiving yards away from passing Marques Colston (577) for the fifth-most receiving yards through the first seven games of a career in NFL history. He is 141 away from passing Odell Beckham Jr. (609) for the fourth-most and 153 away from passing Anquan Boldin (621) for the third-most.

Three catches and 31 yards would see Egbuka join Ja’Marr Chase (2021), Odell Beckham Jr. (2014), A.J. Green (2011) and Marques Colston (2006) as the only players in NFL history with 30+ receptions, 500+ receiving yards and 5+ receiving touchdowns through seven career games.

With three receptions and 131 yards, Egbuka would join Ja’Marr Chase (2021) and Odell Beckham Jr. (2014) as the only players in NFL history to record 30+ receptions, 600+ receiving yards and 5+ receiving touchdowns through seven career games.

Egbuka would need 11 receptions to set a new franchise record for the most through seven career games, passing Michael Clayton (37). He already has the franchise record for receiving touchdowns through seven career games with five.

With 37 receiving yards, Egbuka to set a new Bucs record for the most by a player through seven career games, passing Michael Clayton (505).

With one more receiving touchdown, Egbuka can tie O.J. Howard (2017) for the sixth-most by a rookie in franchise history. He is also two away from tying Michael Clayton (2004) for the fifth-most.

Egbuka is 57 receiving yards away from passing Chris Godwin Jr. (525 in 2017) for the ninth-most by a rookie in team history. With 63 yards, he can pass Kevin House (531 in 1980) for the eighth-most.

Cade Otton

Otton needs 23 more receiving yards to pass Jackie Harris (1,634) for the seventh-most by a tight end in franchise history.

Otton also only needs one more receiving touchdowns to pass Ron Hall (10) for the ninth-most by a tight end in team history. That would also tie him with Calvin Magee and Alex Smith (11) for the seventh-most.

Vita Vea

Vea now needs just a half-sack to pass Jason Pierre-Paul and Brad Culpepper (33.0) for the ninth-most in Buccaneer history. And with 1.5 sacks, he’ll tie Chidi Ahanotu (34.5) for the eighth-most.

Monday will be Vea’s 102nd game with Tampa Bay, moving him ahead of Ian Beckles, Jeremy Trueblood and Ali Marpet for the 39th-most in franchise history.

Lavonte David

David is set for his 205th game as a Buc, leaving him 19 behind Derrick Brooks (224) for the second-most in team history. It’ll also be his 205th start, which is 16 behind Brooks (221) for second all-time.

David needs three more tackles for loss to pass Aaron Donald (176) for the third-most since TruMedia data is available, dating back to 2008.

David needs two more takeaways to reach 35 for his career, which would see him join Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher as the only players with 40+ sacks and 35+ takeaways since at least 1982.

With one more interception, David will reach 15 for his career, which would put him with Ray Lewis and Charles Woodson as the only players with 15+ interceptions, 15+ forced fumbles and 15+ fumble recoveries dating back to 1994.

With four more sacks, David will pass Shaq Barrett (45.0) for the fifth-most in Bucs history.

David is also only two passes defensed away from passing Carlton Davis III (73) for the fourth-most in franchise history.

Zyon McCollum

McCollum should be back Monday night after missing Week 6, and he needs just one more pass defensed to pass Jordan Whitehead and E.J. Biggers (28) for the 15th-most in team history.

Jamel Dean

Dean, the reigning NFC Defensive Player of the Week, is eight passes defensed away from passing Donnie Abraham (64) for the sixth-most in team history.

Dean also needs just one more interception to set a new single-season career high (three).

Antoine Winfield Jr.

Winfield needs one more sack to break a tie with Adam Archuleta, Bill Bates and Roman Harper for the 12th-most by a defensive back since sacks became an official stat in 1982.

With two strip sacks, Winfield can tie Quintin Mikell for the most by a defensive back since at least 2000.

One forced fumble will tie Winfield with Jairus Byrd, Cedric Griffin, Chris Harris, Sammy Knight, Michael Lewis, Troy Polamalu and his father, Antoine Winfield Sr., for the 16th-most by a defensive back since at least 2000. One more forced fumble would also tie him with Hardy Nickerson (13) for the seventh-most in team history.

Winfield needs three passes defensed to pass Dwight Smith (34) for the 12th-most in team history.

Two fumble recoveries would move Winfield ahead of Lee Roy Selmon (10) for the fourth-most in Bucs history and tie him with Cecil Johnson and John Cannon (11) for third-most.

Winfield is 10.5 sacks away from passing Ronde Barber (28.0) for the most by a defensive back in franchise history and the second-most by a defensive back in league history.

Chase McLaughlin

McLaughlin needs 13 more field goals to pass Ryan Succop (84) for the sixth-most in team history.

Todd Bowles

With a win over the Lions, Bowles would move ahead of Tony Dungy (.563) for the second-best winning percentage by a head coach in Bucs history.
