Per Greg Auman of The Athletic, the Bucs are releasing cornerbacks Herb Miller and Chris Wilcox. The moves come after the cutting of veteran Antonio Hamilton, indicating the Bucs will likely start the season with five cornerbacks. It also appears that little-known Dee Delaney has made Tampa Bay’s final roster. The Bucs will be the 2018 undrafted free agent’s fifth team in four seasons.
Bucs are waiving corner Chris Wilcox, a 2021 seventh-round draft pick. Limited by a hamstring injury early in camp and couldn't beat out a deep group of corners for a backup job. Potentially back on practice squad.

Bucs are also waiving cornerback Herb Miller, who could return on practice squad. This all but assures Dee Delaney has made the initial 53-man roster with a strong finish to training camp and preseason.

Miller originally joined the Bucs practice squad in December of 2019, after being cut by the Chiefs. The Florida Atlantic product was waived during roster cuts last year, but returned to the practice squad. Miller was lifted to the active roster for several games last season, intercepting a pass against the Lions. The 23-year old picked off another pass on Saturday night, his first of the preseason.
Wilcox was one of the team’s two seventh round drafts picks this year, but never seemed likely to make the roster. After an injury caused Wilcox to miss the start of training camp, he never gained ground on Delaney, Miller or Hamilton. The rookie could revert to the practice squad, but he might need Hamilton or Miller to get claimed by another team first.
The Bucs must make all cuts official by 4 pm EST on Tuesday. You can track all the team’s roster cuts right here.
