Latest Bucs Headlines

The Bucs are hopeful they’ll have some of their most important players for Sunday’s road game against the Colts. On Friday, head coach Bruce Arians offered some optimism. Arians provided an update on Devin White, Vita Vea, Ali Marpet, Mike Evans and others. He also announced the only player ruled out for Week 12.

“The only person out for this game is Antonio Brown,” Arians said. “We’ll have some guys work out and see how they’re feeling. Possibly have all hands on deck. We may not have a couple.”

The player Arians was most encouraged by was White, who had a quad injury late in Monday night’s win over the Giants. White was limited in practice on Thursday after sitting out on Wednesday.

“Very encouraged,” Arians said. “He’s one of those guys (that) we’ll wait and see.”

Arians also mentioned that Evans looked “fine” after dealing with a back injury this week. Evans returned to practice on Friday.

Facing the run-heavy team Colts makes the importance of Vea’s availability clear. Vea sat out last week with a knee injury, but there is a good chance he’ll dress for Sunday.

“He made steady progress,” Arians said. “We’ll see how he is in warmups.”

Meanwhile, there’s been a bit of a mystery around Miller and his return. He’s been out since suffering a turf toe injury in Week 3. Miller began practicing two weeks ago along with Sean Murphy-Bunting. Though Murphy-Bunting was taken off of injured reserve and played on Monday night, Miller wasn’t activated until Tuesday.

“We’ll wait and see how that goes,” Arians said. “He’s had a really good couple weeks of practice and looks like himself.”

Perhaps the most questionable player is left guard Ali Marpet. He left Monday night’s game early with an oblique injury and hasn’t practiced at all since. Marpet appears to be the least likely of the injured Bucs to play on Sunday.

“He’ll be a game-time decision,” Arians said.

Backup guard Aaron Stinnie will start if Marpet cannot. He did a good job filling in last week, and has a track record of solid work as a spot starter.
