Coming off of their mini-bye week, the Bucs have made a change to their practice squad. The team announced Monday that it has signed cornerback Derrek Pitts Jr. while releasing linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle to make room.
Pitts, a 6-foot-1, 193-pound corner who played college ball at West Virginia, Marshall and North Carolina State, initially signed with the Bucs in May as an undrafted free agent. He had a solid summer and impressed enough in training camp to make Tampa Bay’s initial 53-man roster. Appearing in two games this season, he has one tackle on defense and one on special teams.
The Bucs had waived Pitts last week when they needed room on the roster to activate running back Chase Edmonds from injured reserve.

Pitts is taking the place of Bouyer-Randle, an undrafted linebacker out of UConn who signed to the practice squad after missing out on the 53-man roster out of camp.
Tampa Bay’s practice squad now features Pitts, defensive lineman C.J. Brewer, offensive tackle Silas Dzansi, offensive lineman Luke Haggard, cornerback Keenan Isaac, wide receiver Cephus Johnson III, running back Patrick Laird, safety Richard LeCounte II, wide receiver Ryan Miller, wide receiver David Moore, outside linebacker Jose Ramirez, linebacker J.J. Russell, defensive lineman Deadrin Senat, offensive guard Logan Stenberg, tight end Tanner Taula and quarterback John Wolford.
