Continuing to add players to the practice squad, the Bucs have signed tight end Deon Yelder, per Greg Auman.

Yelder began his career as an undrafted free agent in 2018 with the New Orleans Saints, making their practice squad. He then played 26 career games for the Chiefs, catching 10 passes for 86 yards. Yelder also spent time with the Washington Football Team in May this year, and the Tennessee Titans during training camp.

The Bucs only kept three tight ends on the active roster with Rob Gronkowski, O.J. Howard and Cam Brate. Given their injury history, depth was needed on the practice squad as Yelder joins Codey McElroy. Tampa Bay elected not to bring Tanner Hudson back, who then signed with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad.

The addition of Yelder brings the practice squad number up to 14 players for the Bucs. That gives the team two more spots to fill. Yelder, along with S Andrew Adams, RB Darwin Thompson and S Troy Warner, are currently the only practice squad players signed from outside the Buccaneers.
