With less than a week before the 2022 NFL Draft, the Bucs have signed a veteran defensive tackle.
No, it wasn’t Ndamukong Suh.
Tampa Bay inked former Atlanta defensive tackle Deadrin Senat to a one-year deal. The move was first reported by The Athletic’s Greg Auman.
The Bucs have signed former USF and Falcons defensive lineman Deadrin Senat. He's 27, a former third-round pick for Atlanta, had 30 tackles as a rookie in 2018 but hasn't played much since, last in 2020. Will compete for a backup DL spot this fall in Tampa.

Senat was the Falcons’ third-round draft pick in 2018 and played in 15 games that season with two starts. The 6-foot, 305-pounder had 30 tackles and two tackles for loss during his rookie season. But he has only seen action in seven games since.
Senat, who turns 28 in July, played in two games in 2019 and five games in 2020. He notched four tackles and a fumble recovery during the 2020 season and then didn’t play at all last year as he was on injured reserve.
Senat played collegiately at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He notched 178 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks as a three-year starter for the Bulls. Six of those sacks came during his senior year. That got him an invite to the East-West Shrine Game following the 2017 season.
Senat will compete for a reserve role on the Bucs depth chart in training camp. Defensive tackle remains a need despite his signing, and won’t preclude Tampa Bay from drafting one next week.
