The Bucs have signed a wide receiver. No not that one. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bucs are bringing back receiver Breshad Perriman.
Recently-released WR Breshad Perriman cleared waivers and is going to sign with his former team, Tampa Bay, per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. Perriman will start off on practice squad but Bucs anticipate him being activated in near future.

The former Buc will sign to the team’s practice squad giving them added insurance at receiver. Perriman last played with the team in 2019. In 14 games he reeled in 36 passes for 645 yards and six touchdowns. Perriman was thrust into a starting role after injuries decimated the Bucs receiving crop. In his final three games Perriman turned in his biggest offense outputs of the season. Capping off the the year with three straight 100-plus receiving yard games while scoring four total touchdowns.
Perriman parlayed those games into a one year $8 million contract with the New York Jets in 2020. He signed a one year deal with the Detroit Lions in the offseason but didn’t make it past final cuts. He joined the Chicago Bears shortly thereafter, but was waived on Monday.
The signing of Perriman gives the Bucs a player familiar with the offense and coaching staff they can activate to the active roster if needed. Cyril Grayson has burned through both of his elevations, while Jaydon Mickens has one left. Perriman can be activated to the teams active roster on game days twice during the season. With Antonio Brown sidelined with an ankle injury, the Bucs could look to Perriman sooner than later.
