The dust has settled from what was a very entertaining game that saw the Chiefs beat the 49ers in overtime for Super Bowl LVIII. Naturally, once the football season ends, everyone wants to look at next season, which starts with the odds for every team to win the Super Bowl, including the Bucs.
On Covers.com, they have released the Super Bowl odds for every team for the 2024 season based on projections from DraftKings and FanDuel, with the big game taking place in New Orleans in 2025. In the Patrick Mahomes era the Chiefs are 3-1 in the Super Bowl, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the Bucs in Super Bowl LV when Tampa Bay dominated the game at Raymond James Stadium, 31-9.
To no surprise, the Chiefs are near the top of the teams to win it all again next season. In a little surprise, they aren’t the overall favorite as the San Francisco 49ers, the team they just defeated, have the best odds at +550. Kansas City is second at +550, followed by the Baltimore Ravens (+900), the Buffalo Bills (+950), and the Detroit Lions at (+1,200).
What Are The Bucs’ Odds Of Winning Super Bowl LIX?

These are early Super Bowl odds, and they will change as the offseason progresses and roster changes, and we get closer to next year, especially for the Bucs. Currently, the Bucs’ odds of winning the next Super Bowl is +6,500. That means if you’re confident enough in Tampa Bay, placing a $100 wager would get you $6,500, which is a pretty nice payout.
The Bucs are 22nd on this list, so Las Vegas does not have very high expectations of Tampa Bay’s success heading into next season. Then again, last year there were many that predicted the Bucs would be in the running for the first overall pick and Vegas set the over/under on wins at 6.5, which Tampa Bay smashed with nine victories in the 2023 season.
Among the NFC South teams, it’s the Atlanta Falcons with new coach Raheem Morris, which have the best odds in the division. Tampa Bay is in second, followed by the the New Orleans Saints (24th) and the Carolina Panthers, who are last at 32nd on the list. Carolina has former Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales as their head coach after he spent one season with Tampa Bay.
It’ll be interesting to see if this is the best odds that the Bucs can get. At the moment they don’t know who their starting quarterback is going to be since Baker Mayfield is a free agent, and there’s no guarantee that star wide receiver Mike Evans will be back as he’s also slated to hit free agency. Mayfield has all the intentions of returning to Tampa Bay and it’s evident the Bucs want him back too. But if another team swoops in and presents an offer that Mayfield can’t refuse, Tampa Bay may have to search for other options at QB.
When it comes to Evans, mum has been the word on his overall interest and intentions outside of wanting a large pay day, which he deserves. Based off of what we know about Evans, he wants to win more than anything else and he loves playing in Tampa. Evans isn’t necessarily going to give the Bucs a hometown discount, but if the offers from other teams are same as the Bucs’ offer, it would be surprising if he chose anywhere else besides Tampa.

Along with Mayfield and Evans, they have to make sure they re-sign first team All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr, who is arguably the best safety in the league. They also would like for future Bucs Ring of Honor member, linebacker Lavonte David, to return if he wants to keep playing at age 34.
Let’s not also forget that it’s in the Bucs’ best interest to sign left tackle Tristan Wirfs to a contract extension before he plays on his fifth-year option, which will be just north of $18 million in 2024.
There’s some heavy lifting to be done by the Bucs’ front office, but it’s nothing that general manager Jason Licht and assistant general manager Mike Greenberg can’t handle. Last offseason was much more difficult going through free agency as the team did not have much cap room and also faced challenges after winning Super Bowl LV to keep the roster intact.
If the Bucs are able to get their key pieces re-signed, their odds will certainly increase, which would make for less of a payout if Tampa Bay won it all. So, believing that the Buccaneers will make the right moves, it might just be best to put the pick in now before they get to free agency and a lot of their star players return.
