Joe Ostman | West | 4-2 DE | Central Michigan
Ostman might just be the small school hero that the Buccaneers are looking for.
In his five years at Central Michigan, one lost due to a season-ending injury, Ostman had 26.5 sacks and 45.5 tackles for loss. This 6-foot-3, 255-pound pass rusher has been getting to the quarterbacks ever year he’s been on the field for the Chippewas.
Last year we saw FAU’s Trey Hendrickson be the small-school player that scouts came to love with a high motor and a ton of production to back it up. That got Hendrickson selected with the No. 103 overall pick in the third round to the Saints last year. A big reason why his production got noticed enough to be picked in Day 2 of the draft was because of how he played during Shrine Week.
That could be Ostman this year.
