Jamar Summers | East | CB | Uconn
Talk about production for a cornerback, how about eight interceptions in one season as a true sophomore.
That was Summers’ 2015. As a whole, Summers is a four-year starter who got playing time as a true freshman. His numbers cooled down (obviously) after that eight-interception season, but he still recorded a takeaway in each of the following two seasons giving him a career total of 12 interceptions. Summers isn’t much of a backfield player; he only has one sack in his entire four-year career. He’s more of the shutdown cornerback mold.
At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Summers does have more ideal length than say Nichols, who we already discussed, and Summers does seem to be more of the prototypical outside cornerback that would translate to the NFL. If the Buccaneers were to take a chance on a guy to become a starting outside cornerback from this East-West Shrine group, our money would be on Summers.
