Ja’Von Rolland-Jones | West | 4-3 DE | Arkansas St.
Back on the pass rushing side of things, how about coming up half a sack short of Terrell Suggs’ all-time sack record of 44 career sacks – that’s where Ja’Von Rolland-Jones end his collegiate career.
Though it is a bummer to get so close to the all-time record and come up short, 43.5 sacks in a career is one heck of a carer. Rolland-Jones started off his time at Arkansas State getting 7.5 sacks as a true freshman. From there, he saw his total increase to 8.5, then 13, then 13 again to close out his senior season. On top of that, Rolland-Jones had 63 tackles for loss, too.
At 6-foot-2, 244 pounds, Rolland-Jones is listed on the Shrine Game’s roster as a linebacker, but on Arkansas State’s site he’s listed as a defensive end. We’re here to tell you that he can play both. Rolland-Jones wins with his great length. He has long arms and uses them to separate himself from his opposing offensive tackles, and can also use his length to deploy different pass rush moves. The competition will be a step up during Shrine Week, but he has the production to belong.
